Tishreen Park

Tishreen Park is the largest public park in Damascus, covering approximately 45 hectares in the western part of the city near Umayyad Square and the Barada River. Established in the 1970s and named after the October (Tishreen) War, the park serves as the green lung of the Syrian capital. It features manicured lawns, shaded avenues lined with pine and cypress trees, fountains, and a large artificial lake at its centre. The park is the primary venue for the annual Damascus International Flower Fair and houses a monument to the fallen soldiers of the October War. With its amphitheatre for cultural performances, children’s playgrounds, and walking paths, Tishreen Park is a popular gathering place for families and visitors of all ages, particularly on weekend afternoons.
